Surroundings
Sun, sea, fun, and relaxation. A glass of wine and good food. This is what makes a vacation in Rimini truly special. Besides the beach, wine and food lovers will have the chance to savor Hotel Regina's cuisine, a real highlight of the vacation: typical dishes from the local culinary tradition and an introduction to the culture and history of Romagna's food specialties.
TYPICAL PRODUCTS
Emilia Romagna is one of the richest regions in terms of typical products, to the point that it has earned the title of “food valley.” A stay at our three-star hotel in Rimini will allow you to take a journey through its culinary tradition.

PIADINA ROMAGNOLA PGI
Wheat from this area is used to make piadina, Romagna's most famous food. It's an unleavened bread made with flour, lard, and salt, cooked on a flat pan called a “testo” and served with cold cuts, cheese, and seasonal vegetables.

SQUACQUERONE DI ROMAGNA PDO CHEESE
Squacquerone di Romagna is a cow's milk cheese whose name comes from the Romagna dialect word “squaquaròn,” which refers to its creaminess. You can enjoy it in many forms, but the classic combination remains piadina with prosciutto and arugula.

FOSSA CHEESE
Fossa is a typical local cheese, made by fermenting it in aging pits. It has a delicate, sweet flavor with spicy notes and a slightly bitter aftertaste.

ICE CREAM
It was precisely in Rimini that the first artisan ice cream parlors were born in the 1940s, which is why Rimini is also known as the city of ice cream. Every year, an international trade fair, SIGEP, is held there to spread the culture of ice cream made with quality ingredients throughout the world.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL FROM THE HILLS OF ROMAGNA DOP
The Rimini inland area boasts an outstanding olive-growing heritage, with half of the extra virgin olive oil produced in the whole of Emilia Romagna coming from these ancient crops. Colline di Romagna DOP extra virgin olive oil is medium fruity with a slight hint of fresh leaves and green almonds.

SANGIOVESE AND COLLI DI RIMINI DOC WINES
First to be recognized among Romagna's DOC wines, it's the region's most important traditional wine. Joining it are five other wines from the “Colli di Rimini” Controlled Designation of Origin, telling the story of Rimini's soul, its warmth and hospitality: Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosso, Rebola, Biancame, and Bianco.
