SANT'ARCANGELO DI ROMAGNA
Sant'Arcangelo di Romagna is one of the main municipalities in the province of Rimini and boasts a noteworthy artistic and cultural heritage. The first landmark you notice once you get to the historic center of Sant'Arcangelo di Romagna is the Ganganelli Arch, built by architect Cosimo Morelli in honor of Pope Clement XIV in 1777. The whole historic center is crisscrossed by tuff caves, a maze of underground channels used as cellars, which you can explore on a guided tour. The most important church in Sant'Arcangelo di Romagna is the Collegiate Church, which houses several valuable artworks. Another symbol of the town is the Campanone, which stands above the Porta del Campanone Vecchio. Dating back to the 11th–12th century, it is the oldest gateway to the city.
